... I guess I should note that I prefer smaller sized watches in general, say 36 to 38 mm cases for dress watches and 40/42 mm cases for sport/tool watches is what I usually favor having a wrist of 17,5 or 18 mm and being acustomed to wear vintage watches more often.
I usually don´t feel very comfortable with bigger watches. Panerai is the exception to my own rule. May be it is so because I learned to love its history, its relation with early times of autonomous diving, its tradition, etc. which makes me accept the big cases of most of them. It is part of its DNA!
This particular Submersible comes in the 44 mm case which is the smaller Panerai offers. It is ok for thinner wrist like mine, being its only drawback its height and heavy weight more than its size. I discovered that I can wear it more comfortable with a set of leather straps in lieu of the original rubber-deployant straps it came with. Of course rubber is better if you intend to dive or swim with it!
I like Radiomir cases so much, specially the earlier no lugs version, and I also think that we usually connect the name Panerai with the presence of the bridge protecting the crown. BUT we must remember that the non bridge cases were in fact the shape of the first Panerai watches. I resolved this dilemma by owning examples of both types!
Thank you again and I wish a nice week end!
Abel.
