Well it is not difficult to find a good piece in case you decide to get one again. I also have the metal strap but find it too heavy so I usually wear it with Nato or Sail cloth straps...

I bought recently a nato for thr speedmaster. The original BioStell Nato by Omega. However, never considered one for the AK. Havent thought about it.
