It's almost 2a here where I am...

 By: ThomasM : September 16th, 2010-09:41
another day, another airport (27 hours ago). It's often ironically lonely to be a horological road warrior, and evangelist even if PuristS have the advantage of having friends all over the world... A small consolation is to have these micro friends always...

Part of the journey...

 By: ThomasM : September 16th, 2010-11:17
made slightly more tolerable by the familiarity of the old friend on the wrist......

Nice shot Thomas

Mr road warrior Will post my picture in the morning Cheers Hans

Thomas, you travel the world in search of the pure, yet you still dont come to wales

after the rain we had last night i cant actually blame you, but i'll start to get an avoidance complex soon safe travelling Graham

Time to put more coins in the meter…!

By: blomman Mr Blue : September 16th, 2010-13:48
What a great travel companion you have, Thomas! Well, I will have to park in the long term parking space and put some more coins in the meter as I am going away this weekend… HAGWE Blomman...

Those old parking watches come in handy. A modest example with an AS 1475 movement. Enjoy your trip! Ginger...

where do you find these pieces Ginger ?

 By: G99 : September 17th, 2010-01:46
a superb alternative to the highly priced JLC's of the same age and in excellent condition from what i can see in this pic. i notice there are no 'T's' either side of the swiss made, but there is lume. is it pre-tritium or a redial? if it is you wouldnt k...

Ginger, congrats.... this is a rare Benedict Park-O-Phon.

Ginger, can you take caseaback pics to show when you are much free? have a nice weekend. stefan

More scans as requested

 By: Ginger : September 17th, 2010-13:29
It is hard to tell a cal 1475 from the successor cal 1930, but I think this is the earlier caliber....

many thanks, Ginger...

 By: FanFrancisco : September 17th, 2010-21:55
many thanks Ginger for the pics. the casing looks like some other casing used by Lecoultre. and the movement is correct and it is typical AS caliber. very nice alarm watch in a good condition! best. stefan

lovely clean movement Ginger. [nt]

Beautiful, Ginger! :)

Didn’t know this one – very nice! The marking looks like one coin per hour Thank you, Ginger – I really have to start looking outside JLC when it comes to alarm watches! Best Blomman

Anatomical abnormality?

 By: anaesdoc : September 17th, 2010-14:46
Hi Andrew, thanks for your impressive WS, but how on earth did YOU manage to make this photo? Are you in the handy possession of a hidden third arm ? Please elucidate us. Best regards, anaesdoc

Twister

 By: AndrewD : September 17th, 2010-14:56
With a tripod, time delay on the camera, and a few years of playing "Twister" as a child, anything is possible. Actually a third arm would make a good excuse for another watch! A

Ah, I see. Thanks for unveiling the mystery! [nt]

two very nice pieces Andrew said the master of understatement

 By: G99 : September 18th, 2010-06:22
'nice' doesnt really describe the pair of them. both at different ends of the spectrum, but matching nonetheless. as you know i nearly always wear 2 watches, just because i have 2 arms. i dont have the problem of people at work thinking i'm odd as others ...

Thanks Graham, I appreciate that.

 By: AndrewD : September 19th, 2010-03:23
They are 'nice', I have to modestly agree. So different, but they seem to go well together. And it's actually very easy to get used to wearing two watches; there's a certain balance to it. Keep well. Andrew

play with it at the local AD, very interesting

i miss that watch Big Daddy and do wish i'd kept it, but it looks good on you

 By: G99 : September 17th, 2010-01:48
i'll probably get a handwind model when i have the available cash (i say that every week). wear it in good health Graham

Nice! I love these one-handed Meistersingers.

 By: dxboon : September 17th, 2010-01:52
I toyed with picking up a Perigraph (I think that's what their model is called) that has the single hand display and rotating date disc. Cheers, Daos

have you seen their chrono Daos. a single hander with chrono function

 By: G99 : September 18th, 2010-06:28
fairly unique. there are a lot of companies doing single handers now, but the Meistersingers are my favourite due to the sharpness of the hand and ease of reading. they remind me of pressure gauges. best Graham

The AD for my territory has it, but I've never seen it in person.

 By: dxboon : September 21st, 2010-06:57
Looks cool, but I think that's one step too far for me in terms of the single-hander concept. Cheers, Daos
