but I have always made a complete 3D model of all my watches on the computer before making them. It is a tremendious help in visualising and making sure one doesn't make really stupid mistakes.
I would say that the 3D printing reduces the fun as the metalworking skill set is only barely used. From simply cutting the axles from steel bar and then polishing the ends one can hardly talk about skill !

Making a 1 Second Pendulum Clock (3D printed)
By: DonCorson : October 27th, 2016-12:56
Pendulum clocks are fascinating me these days. And of course different ways of making them. Having recently acquired a 3D FDM printer I decided to see how (if) one could make a precision clock using this means of production. As I already had a mechanical ...

And to a lay person like me this feels much more technical than the stuff you have shown us in the past. Is it more difficult to make than your watches?

Hello, Thank you very much for this nice description and congratulations on your very nice clock. I had a question, what is the diameter of the barrel of the barrel? I am intrigued to see such a large Barrel wheel, how many teeth does it have? One last qu...

That\'s really crazy to think that it was made with a 3D printer. Best wishes Alkiro

I have an old Japanese pendulum clock (Habino) that chimes the quarter hour and strikes on the hour... I just love having that reassuring presence in the house. I wake up at night if it doesn't sound... like when it stops after an earthquake ; ) I enjoyed...
