We did the exact same things, with minor differences. I noticed a very exotic balance truing tool- we did not have one of those. Any advantage over simple bergeon lyre poising calipers, which we used for wheels, and balances? Good article, great coverage ...

It's a great tool that makes truing easier because of the stable base and adjustability, but obviously not necessary to do the job. A luxury tool. :-) _john
