This has nothing to do with accuracy. There are curb pin regulators in CSOC chronometers. This has everything to do with novelty. It looks cool and that is about it; it's not even a marvelous feat of mechanical engineering. They are trying to be different...

Great call Art, The title of my post comes from a viewer on YouTube commenting on this video. As Tommy Ivo explains the car, helps illuminate some similar challenges the watchmakers must have had to overcome. The same thing might be said for the watch wit...

You're right...it wasn't called the "Showboat" for nothing... According to the book Horsepower, a twin Buick engined car was his usual (and more successful) dragster.

While I agree that accuracy might be inferred, I hit Ctrl-F on the original post and typed in accuracy ....and there were no hits. When the watch's dimensions are taken into account, there is no doubt that practical and chronometric considerations were no... 

as this stroke my interest (and curiousity) as well. I asked them why they chose the specific setup and did not opt for an overcoil of any kind (and/or a freesprung balance as well). The responsible watchmakers told me the that choice was made deliberatel...
