What we already know

Aug 16, 2019,22:49 PM

Thanks to Tick Talk some knowledge has already been put together:

part 1 (Dec 28, 2009) www.watchprosite.com

part 2 (Jan 28, 2011) www.watchprosite.com

part 3 (Dec 06, 2011) www.watchprosite.com

and some info from VC is available also:

Vacheron Constantin heritage.vacheron-constantin.com

VC The Hour Lounge www.instagram.com

But the complete story about the V&C CofE watches has not been put together finally and has not been consolidated. That was maybe caused by the shear volume of the production of this watches and the difficult circumstances (WWI) in which they have been created.

Welcome to the facinating world of VC watches.

Your watch without the winding / pusher stem is not in working order. It would be more a difficult task to get that done propperly.

All I can tell you is that thing is pretty cool!

Welcome to Purists!

It seems highly complex for a time-only pocket watch!

Let's see what the community knows about this. Welcome! Cazalea

Wasn’t this

 By: Jurry : August 16th, 2019-12:40
Wasn’t this a series of pocket watches VC made for the US corps? Ps welcome to the forum

Yes

 By: Laser01 : August 16th, 2019-12:45
Yes it is but based on my level of research and a novice the movement seems different to the ones I see online.

I found this

Stem

 By: Laser01 : August 17th, 2019-02:43
The seller indicated that the watch works with a non original stem thar does not stay in place, but it winds the clock and it works. I noticed that the movement on my watch is different from the ones in the article. I am waiting for the watch to arrive. T...

A non original stem that not stay in place?

 By: anon438 : August 17th, 2019-04:01
Well that seems to be a joke, right? It does only make sens to invest in repair if it would be possible to authenticate the watch - including the movement of course. At the moment it's not a watch, it's a project - with open end.

Tick Tack aka Dan has long experience with V&C pocket watches. My best guess is, that movement shouldn't be that V&C CoE watch case. Look at that site that's basically the same movement: Link But do not expect too much, not any movement of the same type w...

It's difficult to judge the value

 By: anon438 : August 18th, 2019-20:49
It's even more difficult to get spare parts for those pocket watches then for the V&C wrist watches. Therefor to start the attempt to bring a pocket watch back to live will be well thought about in advance, especially if you are not able to do the movemen...

How to proceed? To check if that watch was built with that movement - case combination, you have to ask the concierge at Vacheron Constantin - they are able to answer that question. It's essential to know that. The highest value is for those watches still...

Well I'm happy you are happy with your aquisition. But I've to say your watch is still defect and moreover it's also a risk if it stays defect - you should get it fixed by a professional or ceep it at least save. Did you ever heard about the 'Radium Girls...
