Vacheron Constantin

Thanks there is more

Well to make the story complete: the very first time I walked into a VC boutique was couple of years ago when I knew nothing of watches.

Wanted to buy something special coz my wife had survived cancer that at first instance looked fatal (that’s now 6 years ago).

I saw this Traditionelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in platinum and instantaneously knew that this was going to be my grail watch and that one day I would buy it.

I bought my wife then the Overseas full gold with diamonds. And since then every visit I had to try on this Traditionelle. Never bought it though for simple reason it was a chunk of money.

Over the years we build our collection. Next to 6 VC’s we bought some Cartier’s, Blancpains and few others but the Traditionelle kept on staring at me as in: “why not me”

August last year I had sold our business and retired. And that’s when my wife reversed what I had done years earlier. She bought this one for me. VC number 7 haha.

And the nice folks at VC then invited us to come to GENEVA, be there when the engraving was done. Which was all in all a unique experience.

We spent 5 days in Geneva, had dinner with their team and lunch with the CEO.

And is this then the end?

No this is today’s status. I’m mean time I’ve been working on what my dream unique custom built watch should look like.

Obviously that will be a VC. no doubt. If not VC then I don’t want it.
And it will be a VC by the Cabonitiers.

If my design idea plus complications I want in it are realistic or not is something that the future will tell. For now only the planning is already a feast
