Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I was beginning to worry after not seeing any replies the last few days.

I am glad and relieved to get a second opinion on the OS chrono. Although the unit wasn't the freshest of watches in the sense that it has been a display unit at the VC dealer for more than a year, it was "new" (not used). Anyway, you are right. After getting a green light from the service center, there should be nothing to worry about. I will also be sleeping better with the 2-year warranty.

I also decided on the old model after seeing photos of the new one. As the older postings mentioned, the new model's bracelet has the maltese cross motiff. The bezel, though retaining the basic pattern, receives a softer, rounder, touch. My wife likes this new look though I think most of the posts I've read here seem to favor the current design. Of course, I haven't seen one for real so I can't give a stronger opinion (the look might catch on, given time). Hopefully, I will be able to post a picture or two.

Thanks again.

I have seen picts. of the new overseas line and like the older version you're looking at much more. It's not so Swatch looking. Also, the bracellet is outstanding, imo. I would not be concerned if you are getting a good price and it is being rechecked/tou...

Thanks, MC .
