Overseas Chrono tips

Greetings to everyone,

This is my first time to post a message here although I have been visiting, and learning a lot, from this forum for some time now. I have a growing interest in watches both as timepieces and accessories. At present, I own a Rolex datejust, a Bvlgari Solotempo and Ergon (not horological wonders but nice to look at), a Breitling Top Time chrono (circa 70's?), and a 13-yr. old Tag-heuer (basic watch).

I planned on buying a Bvlgari diagono chrono (gold case, rubber/gold strap) for weekend use (simply because I liked how it looked) but also had my eyes on an Overseas Chrono. By chance a VC dealer quoted a very good price on an Overseas Chrono (black face, arabic numerals) that has been on display with them for over a year. I paid a deposit and they sent it to the service center for a final check.

I know should have posted my message first before paying the deposit but I was eager to get the watch. My main concern is that the watch is not coming out fresh from a box, and instead, has been on display for a year (probably just sat on the shelf most of the time though). What things should I look out for before closing the deal? Comments on the performance of the watch are equally welcome.

By the way, I've seen some material on what was supposedly the new Overseas line coming out soon. Most noticeable was the new bracelet design which had a stronger VC touch to it. Any information or photos available?

I look forward to your comments and words of wisdom.

Kazumi

I have seen picts. of the new overseas line and like the older version you're looking at much more. It's not so Swatch looking. Also, the bracellet is outstanding, imo. I would not be concerned if you are getting a good price and it is being rechecked/tou...

Thanks, MC .
