Vacheron Constantin

I think it is

For a number of reasons.  The eccentric yet elegant design, the nice new MANUAL wind movement, the non-round case (wish the movement were non-round as well, but you can't have everything), the 65-hour power reserve, the dimensions, the granular dial, the lack of a date, the half maltese cross buckle on the strap, the pink gold, the historic reference updated to a more modern size and style and yet resonant with the best of what VC creates -- it all just works to create a really wonderful piece, the best VC has done in a long time, IMHO.  I think they have created a distinctive new watch but one that remains subtle and elegant.  I think it is expensive relative to other gold time only watches, and that causes me to hesitate, but perhaps I will think it is worth the premium?  We'll see.  What do you think, buddy?
