I like it! But then again when it comes to Chrnometre Royals, I'm easy :-)

 

It is the first and only watch in the Historiques line that tries to recreate the characteristics of what was originally a pocket watch.

I've seen the Platinum version at the VC Maison in Shanghai, and I prefer that version to this one - it just looks "cooler" to me in a white metal, even more understated.  I have a tougher time comparing the limited edition red 12 version with the platinum one with though.

Though never an official line of watches, I love the Chronometre Royal series.  Originally meant to be a no nonsense, technical, masterpiece and always with the focus of being accurate machines for tracking time.

I don't have a platinum watch, so maybe this one would fit my collection in terms of CRs in difterent metals, time periods, but still all have that little "&"  smile

Don't you think a platinum CR from 2007 would make this a perfect set?  Now if I could only convince my wife/banker of this logic and beauty. :-(

Or perhaps I should use an exclamation point: Isn't she pretty! I am referring to the Chronometer Royal 1907: The case has the look of a 1940's watch with its brushed sides and polished bezel and lugs, though it is appropriately sized for today with a 39 ...

Yes she is, and as the owner of a red twelve Chonometre Royal 1907, I can also say that they are extremely accurate. My watch gains approximately 1/2 second a day.

Not only because it is a chronometer, but also for its timeless aesthetics... Do you have a pic of the platinum version? Am I dreaming or the Red 12 disapperared??? Certainly my next VC! Best, Nicolas

which I think is limited to the boutiques (it is not in the general product catalog). The red twelve was used on only the first 100 Chronometer Royal 1907 watches produced. Personally, I prefer it with all black numbers. Bill

I would like to add an automatic CR, and a manual one. As for the Automatic, the Platinum CR is on the top of my list. As for the manual, one like yours would be great to add.... I have the Chonometer Duo from JLC ( Géophysic / Géomatic ), I want to make ...

it was reflecting light in the photo, giving it the appearance of grey. As is so often the case, this watch is much nicer in person than in photographs. Bill

That really is a beauty, Bill Very pleasing esthetically with a wonderful movement. I wonder if VC had the same problem that Breguet had in the manufacture of the enamel dials? Regards, Joseph

Hi Bill, the watch is stunning, there´s no two ways about it (as our Australina friends would express it). I also like the older ones from the 1950´s which bear some resemblance with the Calatravas. One practical issue: the crown looks very slim...
