All, Thanks to the special efforts of Alex (truly my sincere thanks), I was able to view the 1907 in platinum. My immediate reaction was 'beautiful'... just so clean and understated. It oozes quality, pureness, and elegance. Having seen the rose gold vers... 

Like you, Alex did his best to allow me to see it in Paris, last year. Like you, I fell in love with its understated look, almost cold, but so elegant. Like you, I wish it would be less pricy. But I may make the pliunge, as I am not albe to forget it... B... 

Because with the two of you raving about it really must be special!! I understand where you are coming from in terms of how Vacheron Constantin has valued the watch. I, too, would have to be absolutely sure that it is a keeper before committing to purchas... 

Hi OpC, I've had the opportunity to try the Pt. CR 1907 before and it is a truly magnificent watch. You can really feel the heft of the Pt. It is really beautiful in it's "stark coldness". If I was to splurge for a Pt. watch, my 2 finalists would be this ... 

Did you take the trip to Geneva to acquire the PT version?
