CR 1907 platinum... my 2cents.

All,

Thanks to the special efforts of Alex (truly my sincere thanks), I was able to view the 1907 in platinum. My immediate reaction was 'beautiful'... just so clean and understated. It oozes quality, pureness, and elegance. Having seen the rose gold version, I believe that the platinum version is just better (imho). I was ready to pull the trigger but when I found out it was about double the price of the RG version... I just couldn't do it. Don't get me wrong, I'm used to paying for the platinum premium as the bulk of my collection is in indeed in platinum... but I was unable to justify this type of differential. I'm still dreaming of the watch but at this level, I've got to be certain of the acquisition.

Thanks again Alex - your efforts are deeply appreciated. I'll be noodling on this over the weekend and possibly contemplating flying to Geneva to acquire it there instead.

Like you, Alex did his best to allow me to see it in Paris, last year. Like you, I fell in love with its understated look, almost cold, but so elegant. Like you, I wish it would be less pricy. But I may make the pliunge, as I am not albe to forget it... B...

Because with the two of you raving about it really must be special!! I understand where you are coming from in terms of how Vacheron Constantin has valued the watch. I, too, would have to be absolutely sure that it is a keeper before committing to purchas...
