I like a lot and I am always happy to see one - even behind glass:
To me it has lots of character, but I am not with you when we talk about the movement here. "They nailed it" doesn´t come to my mind. Sorry!

VC paid brilliant homage to the gorgeous design but it really deserves a shaped caliber.

VC nailed it! I feel this is particularly so with the Aronde, but that is merely a matter of personal taste. The cases and dials on both of these are simply gorgeous. These two photos, unlike yours, came out particularly bad: But, oh, how I love the Arond...

Hee hee, can't say you don't want to re-hash the debate then state your position ;-) Really, there is no debate. The original was a different watch in a different time. Comparing them is only an exercise to keep us amused, no criticism of the current mode...
I must have missed that debate on the 1400!
Here's my Aronde on my wrist. The original version was quite a bit smaller and are almost impossible to find especially with the 4 quadrant guillochée pattern. But this watch is stunning, on and off the wrist. As for the movement...yes a rectangular movem...
