Hi everyone,
Here’s my other precious watch.
Very different from the Quattro Spirit, though also manual wind and rose gold with a brown leather strap: my personal favorite combo.
The cow horn lugs give this piece such a strong character and dynamic look! Tradition & imagination, dressy & sporty look, vintage & modern, « classic with a twist » (as Vacheron advertises): that’s what I love about this timepiece.
And the 1142 caliber is so nice. Just a Lemania 2310, but finished with refinement and a secret gem: the Maltese Cross column wheel.

What do you like less on the dial side? Too vintage looking? Any other thing (I'm sincerely interested to know, as it's a matter of personal taste, of course)?
Nothing i don’t like actually. If there’s one thing i would change, it’s the chrono hands inblack. But that’s wishful thinking.
Imho, your corne de vache looks way more elegant and understated as compared to patek equivalent. I think it’s the best looking on the market.
The chrono hands are in blued steel.
In certain lightings, they are really nice to see (cf. photos). And I would agree that the true “rival” of this watch isn’t to be found in Patek’s catalog: for me, it’s Lange’s 1815 Chronograph. I tried it on before buying the CdV and found the movement q...

The only thing I like a little less is that under certain lightings the dial looks a little pale or pallid (I don't know the right word for what I mean).
I agree:
when I tried on both rose gold and steel, I knew it had to be rg for me: I love the warm hue of the rose gold and I prefer the dial with the blue tachometer scale (which the rg version shares with the platinum one). I've never seen the pt version in real ...
I got the steel version and always regretted not going for the gold version like yours!
I might give in one day and get the gold version which has its special touch!

obviously, but its cost means less money for other watches… And the steel version has its own charm and is so easy to wear with any outfit!
I agree, rose gold is my favorite too.
But it's a matter of personal taste of course.

Completely changes the look compared to the SS and PT versions. Plus a little more “heft” to the piece over the SS which is almost a little too light on the wrist!

I love the warmth of rose gold and the blue tachometer scale. But the steel version has a lot of charm too and is so easy to wear in any circumstance! Wear it in good health!
