Too bad I was away and didn't get my WSJ-I would have like to have read the article.
On a side note, I've always read in the Antiquorum catalogs that the
case is based on the "Geographic" line. As far as I can tell, there was
not Geographic line, as VC used four digit reference numbers on all its
watches back in the 40's. Perhaps it is something JLC-related. However,
there is a case from the 40's, the reference 4735, which looks like the
right ancestor.
All I need to do is actually find a 4735 and get some pictures...
