The basic Ulysse Nardin caliber and magnetism.
Dear friends,
I have recently reported in the "main" forum that the magnetic field generated by a MacBook Pro laptop is around 1000 Gauss (I have used a professional gauss-meter). Is this safe with a watch using the UN-118 caliber ? I know that the hairspring is non-magnetic but the rest of the movement is not obviously not. I don't know how to be sure. Any idea ?

I think modern movements are quite antimagnetic
I also have MacBook pro and don't have any problems with modern movements. Even the movements with regular hairspring like the ones in UN perpetuals don't seem to be having any issues. That being said the one which is clearly siceptable to laptop's magnet...

While i have UN on my list, i know which movements in the watches are. I have no Macbook Pro, in my house is a Macbook Pro of a family member. My iPhone is magnetic incl the sleeve. When i go to bed i put not any of my automatic watches on my Apple magnet...
I have 10 different brands of watches and Apples array of toys...
and have never had any magnetic issues. My cheap de-magnetizer is covered with dust. My pacemaker, on the other hand...........just kidding.
