It has been a long time I didn't see an Ulysse Nardin enamel cloisonn dial. I couldn't miss the opportunity to take a shot of the " Dragon ". 40 mm white gold case, cloisonn enamel dial, superb lugs. A beauty, even if I am more fan of the Ships series. ...

this type of enamel work is called champlevé. If you compare the cloisonné dials with the champlevé ones side-by-side, you see the difference. Champlevé: Cloisonné: Marcus ...  

When I saw the Carnival of Venice up close, I was so blown away by the dial work that I wanted to own the piece. The fact that it is a minute repeater seemed a bonus. It was the most exquisite dial I had ever seen so close. UN really blends art with watch...
