When I saw the Carnival of Venice up close, I was so blown away by the dial work that I wanted to own the piece. The fact that it is a minute repeater seemed a bonus. It was the most exquisite dial I had ever seen so close.

It is not cloisonné ...
this type of enamel work is called champlevé. If you compare the cloisonné dials with the champlevé ones side-by-side, you see the difference. Champlevé: Cloisonné: Marcus ...

The Carnival of Venice is one watch I really want to see ( and hear ) in the flesh.
