The original inspiration…
The UN Marine Chronometer model line enjoyed numerous iterations. I quite like some of the first pieces.
All I believe were inspired by the original Ships Chronometers from the mid-20th Century.
I found one of these at a dealer in California 25 years ago. This one saw little use I believe…I tried for a while to track its history by its serial number but to no avail.
It did come with some paperwork including the Naval timing certificate.
“Commissioned” in Sept 1945 the daily deviation was 0.15 seconds! Not bad for 80 years ago.
Any other Ships Chronometers collectors?

This is a truly fantastic piece! My wife is very wary of allowing me to branch out into pieces not fitting a wrist, so not doing that for now 😁
