Ulysse Nardin

Phenomenal watch

I've added some pics with my Freak S as a comparison. (Yes, my custom strap from Jean Rousseau in Paris is awesome...)

I have one criticism for a watch that is remarkable in every way. If you like the Freak then you will definitely be able to contextualise this design, and probably share my fascination with it. I find it hypnotic. A loupe or a big magnifying glass gives you a lot to get lost in, and some of the images you've included really highlight that.

To get to my criticism, the two tourbillons are wonderfully gratuitous, but at no time does Ulysse Nardin show or explain how they help in terms of exactitude. They may very well NOT be anything other than a mechanical tour-de-fource. Nonetheless UN is the last big name left that really made its bones with marine chronometry, where accuracy mattered. I wouldn't be surprised if they return to that topic at some point in the future, after all there's an anchor in the logo. In that sense an insistence on horological excellence is a bit of a lost opportunity.
