I own this watch

and have worn it a lot.

I have worn it so much, in fact, that I wonder if this watch has (sadly?) cured me of the insanity that is watch-collecting. It may be that certain watches come to us when we are ready to 'take a rest' from complete obsession.

This one came at that time, I suppose. Each time I say to myself... you should switch it up a bit... my inner-voice replies, 'why?' As long as I'm not wearing it with dress-clothes... its very hard to want to take it off.

It has bulk, and good size, making it very masculine and current. It makes the wearer feel 'like a man'.

It has detail everywhere, yet nothing shouts. The lugs are very unusual, 'chopped off' in an audacious style. I love them!

The bezel of course, is famously brilliant, and rarely ceases to make me feel that quiet watch-collector happiness when I catch it in the light or superb shadow.

There's a boldness to the whole, and especially the dial. the hands, the markers... the small seconds at 6 and the PR at 12.

The hands are really excellent, legible, and beautifully created. Nothing fails in this watch's design.

The big, FAT crown... ooooh yeah, baby. The anchor on the crown, fantastic.

The little waves on the dial may appear as some sort of mere novelty, but they provide texture and are very subtle... yet they catch your eye. they are happy little waves and they do take your imagination to the sea... very nice. Love them!

My wife said the other day that 'it just looks like a Rolex-ish type watch'.

Comments such as this would have horrified me in earlier days... (what??? Can't anyone see how cool this watch is? I have to sell it, immediately!)

Yes, it can blend right in to the untrained eyes of the uninterested masses.... and yes, it is a diver, and looks like a diver, blessedly.

But for those who appreciate detail, and brave choices, good heft, combined with just the right amount of classicism... it really is a very hard to beat watch.

A great club to be a part of. Hearty congrats, Matey!
