I am sorry to hear ....
... since the breguet Marine is among my most favourite watches I'd like to own one day. I absolutely love that design. After reading your unfortunate story about your watch, all I can say is that here, it pays off to use a standard movement in an everyday sports watch. It is hardly to imagine that a repair shop has to wait several weeks for a part of an ETA 2892 coming from Switzerland.
I was never a real advocate of inhouse movements, since I want to wear my watches under all conditions (at least my steel watches), and so I feel better when they are powered by more common movements, such as ETA 2892 or 2824, 2894, 7750, or similar. Thus, it is not so difficult to find spare parts.
However, nobody can guarantee that this or that watch will be undestroyable, or will never fail. I have seen even G-Shocks being broken (electronically dead) on more than one occasion.
Regards,
Marcus

... your Breguet movement is - or is based on - the JLC 889/2 movement, which is considered a very fine, but also a bit delicate movement. According to experts, it is easily knocked out of adjustment by bumps, but I have not read about real damages, thoug...
