Wind the piece. First set the year using the dragon hand and moon disc position when calendar is set to Jan 1st - there is a chart in the book that tells you what year it is when the piece is set to Jan 1st by looking at the Dragon hand and moon position. Do this in first position of the crown which is quick set mode. (Only do this if you are not sure the year is correct) This is a great time of year to check the year is set correctly.
Then you need to set it by month and full moon/new moon. So get to approx the correct date using the month ring and advance or go back to a full or new moon - moon at 12 is new moon, moon at 6 is full moon. Once you have this rotate the time through the correct number of days forwards or backwards corresponding to how many days away the actual date is from the new/full moon you have set. You are now on the correct day. Now set the GMT ring to GMT time, then push the left hand button to disengage the GMT ring and set your local time.
Now you are done! 👍
