Good news for UN: a new point of sale has just opened at the Bucherer Store of Paris. My weekly visit at this candy shop gave me the opportunity to shoot a wristshot of one of the icons from UN: the Moonstruck. I wish to UN a lot of success with this new ...  

We don't see this one too often. I will expect regular UN reports from this new store from you and Nico! You can each take turns going every other week, and the rest of us UN junkies can see weekly treasures :-)

... but it has to be made one by Ulysse Nardin itself: persisting mentioning, pointing it out in catalogues, advertisments, showcasing it whenever possible. If you consider the Sonata to be a UN icon, then the Moonstruck must be one as well. Just my 2 cen... 

Their first set may well be iconic, I think. That is why I don't see the Moonstruck as an icon. The Sonata is unique. Best, Nicolas

... over the globe, although only very roughly, of course. All other tidal watches indicate the tides only for a specific place, coupled to the moon phase display. Marcus

Reading the tides display of the "Moonstruck" is an ease: Both, the sun and the moon disks show dark blue sectors, symbolising the gravitational forces of these two celestial bodies, as well as the centrifugal force of the Earth rotation. The dark sectors...  

I confess that I do not understand 100% but the information are very interesting ! Given the pull by the sun and moon to create high tides, what are the indictors for low tides ? Or am I not understanding the functions properly ? Cheers, Gordon

... since the "low tide" is wherever there is no high tide. The reason is simply that the water used for building up the "heap" that follows the gravitational pull of moon and sun has to be amiss elsewhere, which is causing the low tides in all reagions t... 

And an example of what I like about UN in terms of originality. However, it is one serious chunk of metal. I struggled with the size when I tried it on. Dave
