A certain rotor sound is pefectly common ....
... since most these movements have their rotors being based a either central pin or a ball bearing. Some other rotors, and I think several Rolex watches have such movements, are running on additional ruby bearings, preventing it from being cantered and colliding ewith either the movement itself or the caseback. It is possible that these rotors make a much fainter sound when moving.

Rotor sound?
By the way, I tried shaking the watch and I hear the rotor making a sound. Somewhat like a subtle grinding noise. The Rolex I used to own does not make any noise at all when I shake it. Is this normal?

I went to Torneau to do a side by side comparison with the watch they had on display. I tried shaking it and it also made the same subtle grinding sound. I guess this is truly authentic and my worries are over?
