Although the funny thing is that car tires don't use the traditional rubber tree rubber anymore. But I'm not an expert, so who knows. And still, a shortage of natural rubber would still likely cause car tires to go up, since the material used for tires would probably be in higher demand, leading to an increase in the costs of tires. So I suppose that's still logical, since it's a related product.
