After our own personal Memorial Day service, we decided to walk a bit on our old college campus (variously known as Balboa University, Cal Western, USIU, PLC, PLNC, etc.). We were last here in December, where I spun in circles filming a gloriously-coopera...

Among the plethora of traditionally pretty pictures, this time around I particularly like the one with the both of you framed - happy as a clam (or clams I guess ), and the one of the somewhat unusual bugs that have that pretty black-white-orange texture ... 

These suck the life out of our tomato plants - there are colonies on the stems. We knocked this one off onto a sheet of white paper to make this photo. We think it is the immature form of Antianthe expansa, known as the keeled tree hopper or solanaceous t...

Admittedly, feral cats as a wildlife problem is new to me. Sad, but interesting.

Our last two cats were feral and caught, taught and lived 20+ years each with us Tiger II found out on the campus near where this cat was Tiger III was born under my sister-in-law's house. They could see the mother but never caught her. He was the best! ...  

But not allowed into the dorm, according to school rules. Our Tiger II was snatched up by the girl’s cross-country team while out on a practice run - they said “he looked so lonely”. They got caught hiding him in a dorm room, and my wife (their coach) bro...  

I noticed that you guys decided not to get another cat. Why not?

With their track record of going about 18-20 years...
