TimeOut

The food was excellent

Hi DRMW, have you tried cruising?  It's much better than I expected.  This is our 3rd one in the past year and overall it's a fun experience.

IMO the cruise ship food was excellent everywhere.  Daily main dining had a lot of choices, the buffet had a good selection, and we did one of the specialty restaurants named Giovanni's that we got a comp for.  Here's a few pics.

Pan seared pork chops on our first night:

Snacks from the cafe while we relaxed with views of the ship promenade:

Lamb chops from Giovanni's Italian which is one of the upgraded specialty (for a fee) restaurants.

Found a bottle of wine named 'Beretta' so I had to order it to bring home smile

Beef tenderloin back in the main dining room, very nicely done and tasted great.

Shrimp scampi with rice, reminds me almost of the north shore shrimp shacks in Hawaii.

Tons of desserts smile

Duck pate which was yummy!  I had seconds...

2nd formal night in the main dining room with generous 10 ounce each lobster tails.  Server brought out two for me and asked if I wanted more smile

Delicious rack of lamb in the main dining.  Nicely prepared and plated, I'm amazed at the quality of food given that the staff is feeding 4000 people on board the cruise ship.

Simple cheese plate

As if we didn't have enough food everywhere, MGM/Mandalay Bay staff sent us daily treats like champagne and these red velvet cupcakes to our stateroom. smile
