Thanks!
I've stayed in a hostel and a very very humble budget hotel. My first time staying in a hostel was in Geneva when I visited a watch factory about four years ago.
Honestly, Paris was painfully cold. I had to buy a coat (which had to be altered so I didn't get to use it for the full duration of my trip in Paris). And as a tourist, I wasn't expecting it to be snowing, as snow isn't commonplace in Paris. Thus, I was wearing sneakers the whole time as I didn't pack any boots.
Living right at Place Vendome has its benefits. And the hotel had a wonderful breakfast buffet (that was probably wonderfully expensive).
