The first article or your article, in terms of which RM it was, and the corresponding value? Anyway, what is the thief now going to do with a, supposedly, piece unique RM other than wear it to his/her heart's content.... Public resale is impossible.... Thanks for sharing this --- awful news but glad he appears to be fine! It happened in the beautiful town of Viareggio (world famous for its Carnival), in Northern Toscana, Italy. I have included a link to a news source.

I (obviously) don't know more than what I can read online about this theft....the "Gazzetta" is a very reputable (sports) Italian paper, but I guess an exact estimate isn't easy regardless, given that this RM (reportedly, a ref. 67-02) is bespoke.
It appears from the Gazzetta article that this was notoriously not a good area of the town, where residents had already complained about safety at night. Again according to the newspaper, the pilot initially did not realize he was robbed --- which fortuna...
This totally comes across like a....
spur of the moment decision, without any pre-meditation. I bet he/she thought they'd be easily able to sell it right away.... This way, they'll stash it away someplace that's unrelated to them directly, and wait a long time before attempting to peddle it ...
Another thought that might have factored into their decision is the virtual certainty in their (and my!) mind that they wouldn't be spending a single day in jail in Italy, even in the remote case they'll ever get caught....;-)
Not that other countries are necessarily safer, but I'm pretty sure that the idea of impunity these criminals have definitely doesn't work as a deterrent! Glad they won't be able to (easily) resell it....even though I'm afraid the Ferrari pilot has alread...

The thief could now offer to send it to a local police station if he/she receives a ransom in Bitcoin LoL.... How much to negotiate for!? 500K EUR ........
By looking at other sources I think I finally understand how the Italian journalists came up with the 2M figure...it's because *another* 67-02, the "Only Watch 2021" prototype made for him, went for that much at the auction! ;-)
Obviously still a totally arbitrary figure for a unique piece, but probably closer to a hypothetical value than $300k!👍😉

This is again sad news . Summer is coming and when wearing short sleeves we need to think twice before strapping a nice watch on the wrist unfortunately 😔
Glad he is unharmed. This is reality nowadays and spoiling the fun from our hobby imho .
My mistake. I went back and saw the same watch in your picture...
I am now officially a certified old fart with even older eyes. But, I swear I saw him with a red watch, maybe during yesterday's qualifying?
