Oliver, I had to think the same!

We seem to come from the same cultural back ground. Victor Frankl made a lasting impression on me in my youth when we read the book at high school.

In the end: what ever happens to you, if you have a purpose, then you have a reason and a means to overcome.

Today, we often forget about the freedom of will. We cry for social welfare to help the less advantaged, denying that people can break out of their environment if they really want to.

We have a choice, every day. But making choices is often uncomfortable and irritating to others. But without making choices we will change nothing.

This thread is REALLY getting derailed! I think I've just proven my point in my reasoning about no price discussions: like sex, once it enters the discussion, everything else is lost or forgotten. :-) And... Momma mia!!!! :-) Brilliant, and brilliantly ch...

Absolutely, but quite often we forget that it is us who have to take the decision to choose. Viktor E. Frankl comes to my mind - the founder of logotherapy and the author of Nevertheless, they YES to life . One of my all time favorite books. Anyway, nice ...
