New Year - Good time for a walk in the country
But this walk wasn't quite as easy as the map suggested!
First we had to traverse this washed out junction of the trail
Walk on ankle-twisting round rocks
Leap (almost) across muddy trails and walk with a wet foot thereafter :-(
Descend extremely steep trail sections (this is the only way my wife can do hills after a Achilles tendon injury)
Avoiding dangerous wild creatures along the way
Tracks everywhere, and not just from snails.
"Lift Here"
Thank goodness I brought GPS navigation, as the foliage was so high we often couldn't see which way to turn
We did find the lake we were after.
So I took a picture to celebrate and we headed back up and over the ridge
When we got to the Ridge Line, we could barely see our Ridgeline
After another half hour of trudging alone we then could see it unaided
Maybe a little help from the zoom lens
We made it home just in time for lunch.

Great report and looks to be a fun day adventure!
I like your trail companions as well. I wouldn't want to be the person who's job it is to "Lift Here" in that bee shot.
