because I would assume he will win the S4 class again which would put him one 27 points with ten races to go. The difference between first and second place is 3 points per event. So the math does allow for a very close points race that can still be won by 3 points in the event I could win all ten and he comes in second. Of course this means I don't ever get to have a bad day or I better hope he has a few.
I agree with you that part of the fun is just competing, but I figure if you are going to compete you mine as well try to win.
A silly dilemma
as the title says this is kinda of a silly dilemma with no real consequences but here it is. There is a PCA autocross on sunday. My PCA region does an autocross once a month and rewards points at each autocross to crown a Champion at the end of the season...

If you drive the GTR this weekend and don't score any points, can you still statistically win the overall autocross if you win the last 10 races? I would also point out that a lot of the fun is simply in competing. Best regards, George

I would go for the race on the GTR
If it is only going to happen once, go for the burn. I say take the risk. It heightens the stakes for sure. Best regards, George
