I think this is an interesting comparative stat....

An estimated 1,120 Million (1.1 Billion) people world-wide watched the 2018 Men's World Cup Final.
An estimated 27 Million people world-wide watched the 2015 Women's World Cup Final.
I think that's a fair assessment of the relative global interest in the men's versus the women's game at this moment in time. Although, in fairness, the 2015 women's final was the highest-rated football game ever (men or women) in the USA (where we think of football predominantly as a ladies game) and was three times higher than the Stanley Cup Final that year (is Ice Hockey still a major sport in the USA?).
It will be interesting to see the global numbers for the ladies final this year and how much the game has grown the past four years.
