I love Grimm!
I watch the show every week with a group of friends. We all watch the episodes at our separate houses, but simultaneously chat about it through the internet as we watch. It's like having a virtual viewing party.
We didn't see any Grimm beasts (Thank goodness!), but I think the lampreys were enough grossness for me! Yucky fish! I think you would enjoy hiking through the scenic areas surrounding Portland. Our cabin was located in a national forest and there were tons of hiking trails. It's a good trip for the nature lover.

Portland is a foodie paradise.
Locavorism (eating local, organic, seasonally) is the mantra up there. Lots of great chefs preparing dishes from the area's bountiful natural resources. :-) Hope you get some fishing in next time you visit. Cheers, Daos

To me the best food is...
...simply prepared in order to highlight the ingredients. If you start with pristine ingredients, you don't need to gild the lily. I would take "peasant food" over anything fancy, seven days a week! :-) Daos

I don't regularly watch it
...but have seen bits of Portlandia, which is very humorous in how they play up stereotypes of people in Portland. My friends and I laughed a lot about Portlandia while we were actually in Oregon. Cheers, Daos
