David was a fair rhythm player, but his calling card was his voice. Singing harmony was his specialty . . . his collaborations with Graham Nash . . .
. . . were a staple of my high school years.
Never saw him perform, but in the '80s was briefly acquainted with Roger McGuinn's ex-wife who regaled a few choice tales of David's legendary bad habits. He was able to overcome them, and consequently gave us decades more of listening pleasure.
