Another Wild Kingdom post from Chez Cazalea, featuring MIH
Don't let my dinner guests know about this, but we did some lizard whispering today.
It started with a call from my wife, something like this:
"Can you come rescue a lizard?"
to which I replied,
"I'm busy reading WPS, but Sure. Where is it?"
She (trembling voice) answered
"In the guest room. Skylight"
Skylight? What the heck? What's he doing in the skylight?
He's scaring me - might fall down on me while I'm cleaning window sills and door frames!
Of course, I wanted to say Don't clean them then, leave him alone but I like my wife and don't want to be living here only with lizards, so upstairs I went.
Presence and identity confirmed! I believe this might be the one who was climbing up the wall outside the window two weeks ago. How did he survive? There were a couple spiders up inside the skylight well, and some ants. Probably a buggy buffet for this tiny reptile.
The bottom of the skylight (the ceiling of the room) is made of two stained glass windows in wooden frames that are quite heavy, so this called for a couple ladders and gentle wedging and sliding.
Sensing trouble, our lizard wisely went to the middle of the panel and did some push-ups.

I got my arm in and cupped my hand over him, but he made a break for it and flew out the side into the air and down on the carpet, unharmed.
So I pulled my arm out, dropped off the ladder and snatched him up. No problem, although my wife was doing the shrieking, running around in circles thing.
I took him outside, returned him to a better environment (noting the lapsed time on my trusty MIH was about 20 minutes), and let him go on the edge of the drive.

He chose the rocks - a wise decision.

I believe this is the same one that was crawling up the wall near that bedroom window, reported
HERE two weeks ago.
Thanks for reading!
By the way, I note that today my MIH has been with me since October 2006 -- 6181 days. About a month shy of 17 years! My the time does fly by.
