We intended to go for a winter walk
and ended up standing around in a parking lot for quite a long time...

A RARE crowd, which featured many cars I have owned at one time or the other -- Lotuses, and Corvettes, a Buick V6 Turbo Regal Grand National,
then cars I haven't owned but wished I had -- GTO, Cobra replica, VW, M-B, Porsche, etc.

Finally the cars pulled out (I’m ashamed to saw I was rocking a Honda today)
and we "were able to continue" on our walk... on a beautiful morning after Thanksgiving.

The birds were out in force.

waiting for an unlucky fisherman to lose what was on his line, or perhaps to throw some scraps their way.

Some cleaning and trimming was going on (they bought this large tuna at a fish market and brought it to be cleaned and trimmed)

Pelican flying away in protest that he got no food.

We continued along Shelter Island a bit longer.

Not very wintery, is it?

More flying creatures were spotted,
this time on the grass and not the fishing pier.

A jumping AND flying creature.
And there's a jumping and flying machine!

Dogs being walked on the rare bay-side beach

We waved to all the tourists on Admiral Hornblower.
As we came around the corner towards the land side of the island, we spotted more noisy machinery.

I hope you enjoyed this brief excursion -- especially those who will have to be bundled up for a few months.

PS - my friends walking at Corfe Castle, Dorset, UK reported it's clear and VERY COLD; I sensed they are ready to book a flight over to SoCal...

and Yes, I believe there's frost on that hillside!
We ARE lucky here in San Diego.
