While I hope for the best for
those on board I would not be one to get on a submersible to go 13,000 feet below the surface with that submersible using a video game controller to control it.
At the very least you would think there would be detachable radio beacons
that would float to the surface as a locator.
Yes, but those beacons could be so far from the submersible by the time they reached the surface searchers
would have no idea where to look. the deeper it is the longer tether is needed and once you reach a certain point no tether may be long enough.
Even 3-5 miles would be helpful
as opposed to an area the size of the state of Connecticut which is where they are currently searching…
It just seems like there should have been more safety precautions implemented in this scenario

It won't be long before Hollywood gets their
hands on it and we see the whole ordeal played out on the silver screen.
I heard last night that even if it were to rise to the surface the
passengers still can't get out unassisted because the hatch is bolted on with 17 bolts from the outside. The whole situation does not look good.
Given how hard it is to locate a vessel at the surface of the sea, only the very best technicians will be able to find this submerged submarine

I was sadened to read the news during our weekend and follow the search praying for a miracle.
As you surely know we had a very sad experience here with a local Navy Sub a few years ago. It was an agonizing wait till they were declared lost and several long long weeks afterwards till the wreck was finally found. Let´s hope the fate of the Titan is ...
