Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

It looks like you managed to properly initiate the NSA into the group, and had a great time doing it, too! Terrific photos, although it's hard to imagine there could be bad ones when dealing with scenery like that.

No NSA in my collection (yet!), but hopefully my own new LV sub will be able to hit the ocean sometime soon...

NSA Field Test Report at Tanjong Jara Resort

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-01:07
Dear Fellow Purists, I've just returned from my short dive excursion to Tanjong Jara Resort, which boasts the untouched dive site of Pulau Tenggol. As usual, I love to subject tool watches to real life scenarios, making friends like SJX so jealous (he is ...

Part 1: Where it began

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-01:29
Here is the resort I stayed which served as a launching pad for my dives. It was a breath of fresh air since I am so used to "budget dives" in Tioman which get me all tired and frustrated. This place allowed me to unwind and appreciate "god's glory" in it...

Part 2: The Test Begins

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-01:55
Remembered when I posted about my numerous dives with a Rolex, in places such as Bali and Perhantian. With my new tool, a more rugged dive watch conceived, I'm quite afriad the LV submariner will be reserved for swimming pools only. The NSA is well though...

Part 3: Turtles and more exciting critters

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-04:03
Dear All, As promised, part 3 will showcase the turtles, and other marine life of interest! I wish I could stay longer to do the drift diving and deep dives near at the Japanese shipwreck, but this will wait till perhaps end of the year. I might want to t...

Beautiful posts. Thank you.

We tend to forget that there is a beautiful and colorful world down there. Thanks for remind us with these nice pictures. Cheers. Vte

Thank you

Nudibranch alert!!!!

 By: dxboon : April 9th, 2011-08:08
Hi Mike! That looks like an awesome resort, and the underwater pictures are fantastic. I love when you, BDLJ, and others share their diving adventures with us. As BDLJ knows, my favorite undersea subjects are nudibranchs. They are so colorful and slug-lik...

Wonderful photos Cookies! I want to hang out with you on my next vacation! The views of the beach outside of the villas are beautiful, what a stunning getaway. How many dives did you make on this trip? -MW

Thanks!

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-21:01
The villas are world class- either in Bumbung, Serambi or Anjung configuration. All have views of the beautiful teranganu sea. I did 3 dives this time. This time, I shot for the challenging dives at tokong laut which is ideal for adrenaline seeking divers...

Top work, Cookies.

 By: BDLJ : April 10th, 2011-17:01
...I am reaaaally jealous. Looks like another Malaysian dive site to add to the list (heading to KL in July and am trying to work out where heading out to from there to get underwater). Tioman is frustrating? The dives sites are OK, the beer is cheap....I...

Sounded like a lengthened screetch underwater

 By: Cookies : April 10th, 2011-20:28
Ok, from KL, take a domestic flight to teranganu airport. The staff at Tanjong Jara will greet u at the airport if you request for an arrival transfer from the resort. It's a smooth short journey believe me, because the place is not overcrowded with diver...

Thanks for sharing your awesome trip! Got any more pictures of the sea turtle? Or was s/he too shy for the camera? Perhaps the loud ringing of the watch scared him away... Awesome watch and it's great to see such a watch used in its element. If I owned a ...

Hey Patrick

 By: Cookies : April 13th, 2011-06:30
The turtle was quite unafraid lf divers and we could approach it to 1m. There were 3 turtles, however, with the strong currents when they were around, the other shots are not worthy of your viewing- too blurry. Now, did u see SJX's post on the new GP seaha...

What a wonderful adventure, Cookies!

 By: AlexSunrise : April 13th, 2011-08:55
The conditions just seemed excellent for diving, and the resort, well, top notch! On my side I just returned from a brief diving trip, in which I got my certification. Sadly the conditions in PVR where not as clear as the one's you encountered, but hopefu...

Hey Alex

 By: Cookies : April 13th, 2011-09:09
Nice watch you have there...darn rugged looking and almost an old lady already. Simple, functional and strong- thats the DNA of a real tool. The waters look calm there, and seems like a nice place to check out the corals. You're lucky to have the Carribea...

Thank you, Mike!

If you ever consider this side of the world for any of your diving trips, do please let me know and we can go put our watches to the test . Cold beers afterwards are on me! Hopefully soon you will be able to spot that hammerhead. Have fun and be safe, Ale...

That's an amvox strap

 By: Cookies : April 9th, 2011-16:03
The AD could not find the articulated rubber strap and so I just took this one.Ha

Thanks Cookies..

 By: fherradon : April 10th, 2011-01:35
I'm waiting for a rubber strap from my AD in the meantime I'm trying to find some alternatives for my GMT Navy Seals. thinking in the summer and maybe some dives. As this is a 23 mm I'm having some problems to find one Take care. Fernando

Hey Fernando

 By: Cookies : April 10th, 2011-02:04
I gotta go back to measure the strap diameter. This strap is perfect for the watch, however, it is extremely hard to remove from the watch for a strap change. You should use it on the nylon strap provided with the navy seals gmt because it is heavier and ...

It is always great to see some giving big and great time to their watches, rather than letting them sleep in a deep safe. The NSA is one of these watches to live with, for sure. I wish you many other epxeriences with it, as it will also be our pleasure to...

Thanks for the journey ! [nt]

Ideally, i could stay there forever. Nice flora/fauna. Waking up to the sound of playful magpie robins and starlings.

?Your post has inspired me to take more photos on my recent trip.
