The other 6105
Some of you will know that Seiko is a material part of my collecting, one of three main brand themes and one of four overall themes.
In terms of number of single brand watches (in my collection) vintage Seiko would be #2 for me. In terms of emotional connection the vintage Seiko are #1, fueled not so much by the watches or Seiko itself but rather by Seiko’s homeland, Japan.
There are many reasons to collect watches, and not all are directly related to the watches or the brand. This is certainly true for me in this case (not that the watches do not merit being collectible, they are for sure as thousands of watch folks the world over will attest).
Anyways, here’s my 6105 (the not so famous one). I’ve thought about adding it’s bigger movie famous brother but up to this point I’ve passed on the few I’ve seen. And this was the better choice for me as it suits my wrist best.

My 6105 below a little rougher than your excellent example. What are your thoughts on the citizen dive watches of the same era. ...
Honestly Bill, I can’t look past Seiko.
And it’s interesting to think about. For whatever reason if one says “watch” and “Japan” the immediate thought for me is Seiko. Not Casio, G-Shock or indeed Citizen. And so I have never given Citizen any thought. The merits of the watches from the say era...
