So Many GS Watches? A Review of the Entire Catalog

Jan 27, 2022,15:13 PM

My recent article reviewing the past 2 years of releases from GS surprised even me. So many!

Since I was "on a roll" I decided to keep going and try to survey the whole catalog of GS watches currently shown on their global website (English language). I'm not sure where or when these watches are sold as they do sometimes restrict sales to certain countries or regions (and there are a few Ginza or other boutique-limited models).

Note that these are watches already for sale -- the newly announced but not yet available watches are not shown here.

Anyway, enough words and let's go look at the immensity of the product line. I have grouped the watches as GS does, in 5 collections called as MASTERPIECE, EVOLUTION 9, HERITAGE, SPORT, ELEGANCE.

MASTERPIECE

EVOLUTION 9

HERITAGE MODELS

SPORT

ELEGANCE

That helps so much since their webpage, while improving every year, is a little bit fuzzy, in my humble opinion! Simone

Incredible Quality

Plus a very broad lineup from a few hundred Dollars to eclipsing even some high-end Swiss / German brands... for a fraction of the cost. Absolutely gorgeous dials too! Grand Seiko has been earning more and more acclaim over the years. Bravo!

Thank you for putting these and summarizing this for us...

I guess the strategy is to reach out to all corners in the market as possible. This is similar to BMW and MB models lately...used to be 1, 3, 5, 7 series and now we have 1~8. MB also went from C, E, CL, G, S SL, classes to A to Z classes. I feel sorry for...

That is exactly right

VW group is another example with Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda, etc etc and many models within each brand.

Great analogy.

Too much?

And this is confusing: I have a SBGJ211, which appears to be the SBGJ201 in titanium. But don’t see it listed; has the Ti version been discontinued? Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
