Here are the two variations know as proof proof and resist resist.  


These are the combination of what is on the dial and case back. These terms preceded the water resistant i thing something iso or claims using proof. 

Proof was also used on the original seiko 62mas launched in 1965. 



Below the 6105-8000 with proof on the dial and water proof on the case back. 





Below is tye Seiko 6105-8009 with resist on the dial and water resist on the case back.

I have a March '69 6105-8009 Resit Resist The crown has Lock-> on it not seiko is it correct or should it say seiko on it?

The crown does not lock on the 6105-8000.

The crown therefore should be signed Seiko. This was I understand very unusual for the time, to have the crown signed.
