Seiko 6105-8000 and the 6105-8009 appeared in the 1968-1970 period.
Here are the two variations know as proof proof and resist resist.
These are the combination of what is on the dial and case back. These terms preceded the water resistant i thing something iso or claims using proof.
Proof was also used on the original seiko 62mas launched in 1965.

Thanks, yes the dial on this one is pretty clean for a 50 year old watch. There are some marks (discoloration) on the indices but funnily this picture doesn't pick those up. You can see the hands have aged a little more.
It's similar on Bill's "PROOF" dial below, the hands show more discoloration.

Which crown?
I have a March '69 6105-8009 Resit Resist The crown has Lock-> on it not seiko is it correct or should it say seiko on it?
The crown does not lock on the 6105-8000.
The crown therefore should be signed Seiko. This was I understand very unusual for the time, to have the crown signed.
