Evolution and revolution of taste may occur to us all

May 15, 2018,12:15 PM

I got entranced by GS dials. This was my first Spring Drive:

And this my first manual wind mechanical GS

But then I found this one - mechanical, automatic, titanium, fascinating dial - and the manual wind went away

and I found this and I knew it wasn't going to be replaced easily

and I found this and decided OF COURSE, a magnetic shielded watch is JUST WHAT I NEED

And I figured that would be the end of my GS collection, but I was wrong... and so when I found the Snowflake, the plain old Spring Drive SBGA001 went away

and so it goes - there was this one which cried out to me,

and everyone needs a high-accuracy quartz, don't they?

and a High-Beat would be nice to round out the collection.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to sell.

Cheers,

Cazalea

PS - and one always wants a skeleton too, right?

Is It Game Over: Snowflake Spring Drive SSD?

 By: Greenwatch : May 15th, 2018-01:53
Funny if I have to pose this question, but ever since I got the SSD, it has made owning the other GS/ Seiko models somehow “uninspiring”. To the extent that I’ve decided to let go the SBGW253 and is close to letting go the SLA017J. Initially I was eyeing ...

Knee-Jerk Reaction

All other watches pale in comparison, but after awhile you will probably want a Dive watch, a Chronograph, maybe a high end quartz, etc. I had the same reaction when I got mine - I sold several other GS watches. But gradually I found models that complemen...

Thanks for your inputs!

It’s a bit strange and first time that it happened for me to lose interest on the other models of a particular brand. I just thought that the SSD is so perfect that it’s hard to find another one that will complement this. Not even the Hi Beat. But maybe I...

For taking the time to show me your Seiko evolution. I’ll certainly heed your call and will hold on to any crazy decision.

Makes sense to me - the honeymoon period!

I haven’t sold the Divers and as advised by others thru PM, I’ll keep it for the time being until I’m pretty sure of letting it go. Will keep you posted.

Honeymoon period!

After I got my Chopard LUC Chrono One, I thought that was it... Same after I got my GS SBGH035. But there will be a next one, question is only when and which one

For now, I think I’ll go ahead with my plan

to rationalize my Seiko collection but the SSD will stay. Just can’t stop looking at it.
