Seiko

Help with first GS

 

Hi All,
I'll be traveling to Japan for two weeks in October (Tokyo, Kyoto and one other destination yet to be decided) and I want to use the opportunity to pick up a vintage GS.
My problem is that I know very little about the brand other than what I have picked up from reading this and other watch forums. All my Swiss watch purchases have come after lots of reading up on the various calibers and fair prices, so I feel confidently knowledgeable about what I buy.
The pics I have seen of the 60's and 70's models are beautiful but rarely include the price. Chrono24 has hardly any GS models and the sites for Lemon and Jack Road in Tokyo are in Japanese so I can't navigate them.

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a resource that will help me learn the available vintage calibers that I should look out for in the $1000 to $2000 range?
