Grand Seiko Omiwatari

After seeing Sham recent posts of his "accidental" purchase of the Grand Seiko SBGY007, I decided to try one on.....and I was smitten on the spot. The amazing dial and the hand wound spring drive movement  - pure poetry in motion. Thanks Sham for the post, that push me to pull the trigger on this beauty as well.

Some quick shots on the iPhone - don't really do much justice, the dial is much more alluring than the pics, you have to hold one in the hands to appreciate the subtle play of light and shadows. Really happy with this one.

Watch with an impressive dial too. Congratulations to it. What is the case size, below 40mm? Enjoy this precious piece.

Perfect size!

Love the dial and though I have the previous Snowflake which is also a Spring Drive movement, the SBGY007 is a hand wound Spring Drive movement which is icing on the cake.

Sham’s sure got the eye for them gems.

As expected, this grand seiko punches far above its weight when it comes to finishing, dial work and chronometry. Wear it in good health, and thanks for sharing

Agreed

For the kind comments, will try to capture more angles of the beautiful shades of dial that depending on the time of day can be rendered silvery to shades of blue, really mesmerising

Congrats!

Though talking about beautiful dials, is another one of Sham's on his Laine V38. The salmon dial is haunting me now.....I am kind of scared to read Sham's post nowadays....it is dangerous to the wallet
