Seiko

Good idea...

Hi, Vernon,

If you enjoy your GS SBGW047, it is likely you will love the quartz GS SBGV009 as well.

For me personally, SBGV009 is a necessary complementary piece to SBGW047. I take note on regular basis and the date feature on SBGV009 is very useful for me. That's why the designers at Seiko Epson call the SBGV009 "Evolution of Practicality" (or something like that in Japanese). The 57GS "Self-Dater" was designed in 1964 with the idea of creating the most practical high end SEIKO.

Half a century later, when Seiko decided to remake the 57GS in 2014, they stay faithful to their original idea. What is the most fitting movement for the most practical GS? SEIKO high accuracy quartz cal. 9F82 of course! smile  Its spec is +/- 10 seconds/year, mine is still spot on with internet atomic time after two months. In my case, it's basically an atomic time reference on the wrist, give or take a fraction of second.

I still regard SBGW047 as the most beautiful watch in my collection. But during the weekdays, GS quartz is always my first choice.

Regards,
Indera
