Thanks for your comments. It’s a very comfortable and legible watch. The dial is I suppose conservative but the guilloche work and the contrasting second hand have discrete appeal. The polished hands and batons make for a strong contrast with the dial and hence the time is easily read. In daylight the date is also easily read by my aged eyes. So it’s quickly become my daily wearer.
Grey or Brown?

In the late 60s my father brought me a Seiko on his return from an oversees posting. The watch had a brown dial and despite my youthful distaste at the time the watch lasted through most of my wild teenage years. Sadly I cannot remember what became of it....
